  1. Umowа o pracę (Employment contract)
  2. Umowa zlecenie (Commission contract)
  3. Umowa o dzieło (Specific-task contract)
  4. Umowa zlecenie z podmiotem gospodarczym (Commission contract with an economic entity)
  5. Umowa o praktyki studenckie i absolwenckie (Student and postgraduate internship contract).
  • Work Permits and Visas: For non-EU citizens, obtaining a work permit is necessary. The process can vary depending on the type of job and qualifications of the candidate. It’s advisable to consult with legal experts to ensure compliance with immigration laws.
  • Social Security and Taxes: Employers are required to register with the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) and make contributions to social security, health insurance, and a labor fund on behalf of their employees.

Both the employer and the employee are required to make contributions to the Polish social security system.

The employer’s total contributions vary from 19.21% to 22.41% of the employee’s gross salary, with the specific rate depending on the number of employees insured and the business sector. This rate includes an element for accident insurance.

The employee contributes 13.71% of their gross salary towards social security, and both the employer and employee can deduct their respective shares from their personal income tax (PIT) settlements.

Regular employees in Poland are granted at least 20 days of paid vacation (annual leave). However, those with longer seniority are usually entitled to 26 days or more.
