The company
XL Recycling is a French pioneer in plastic film recycling and Europe’s leading manufacturer of recycled polyethylene packaging. The company collects and recovers plastic waste and returns it to the market as packaging film, closing the loop for industrial and retail customers. Spain is one of its growth markets - served remotely and built account by account.
The challenge
The role combines two jobs that rarely sit in one person: winning waste collection and recovery contracts from industrial and retail clients, then steering those accounts through tender, onboarding and industrial launch alongside R&D and the technical teams. All of it from a home base, across Spain and Portugal, with no local management - which calls for someone who structures their own week and still hits a number. Add fluent English and Spanish and a real interest in the circular economy, and the pool in Spain narrows quickly. The strongest people in it were not reading job ads.
Our approach
We mapped recycling, waste management and environmental services across Spain and Portugal, and widened the search into packaging - where people already sell film and polyethylene to the same industrial and retail buyers - along with adjacent industrial supply. 388 profiles were sourced and screened against the brief. Candidates were approached directly rather than invited to apply. 57 went through a structured first interview with JN Recruitment covering prospecting discipline, offer and tender experience, and how comfortable they really were owning a remote territory. The first candidate reached XL Recycling four working days after kick-off.
The result
XL Recycling had its first introduction on the table four working days after kick-off - a shortlist built by direct approach, drawn from 388 sourced profiles and narrowed through 57 first interviews by our team.
